How To Fix ECIG Vape Pen Battery Not Charging

A ecig requires a battery for it to function and create smoke because the coils require power to heat up the ejuice. Now if the battery is not charging on your electronic ecig vape pen, it will either not hold charge for long or not work altogether. Before you are considering purchasing a brand new battery or charger for your ecig, it might be just a simple problem that is causing your vape pen to not charge up properly. So here are a few things that you can look into to make your ecig battery charge again.

Bad USB Cable

If you have a digital electronic cigarette, you will have a mini usb cable to charge it. This could be damaged, as wires could have bended around the connectors and come off inside even though it looks ok from the outside. If you have a Samsung charger laying around or a spare USB cable of the same kind plug it for a few minutes and test it if works. Most of the time the USB cable need replacing due to being broken.

Bad USB Adapter

The USB cable plugs into an adapter that you plug into your mains socket. The reason why this is used because the mains voltage is too high and needs to be converted down to 5 volts between 1-2 amps following USB standards and regulations. Sometimes the adapter can become faulty, charge really slow or not work at all. Try charging your ecig on your computer or laptop or another device with a USB port. This will test to see if the mains adapter is working or not. This is less common that a faulty cable but it can happen.

Dirty Connector

The connector which the charger cable plugs into on the electronic cigarette could be dirty. If you have been putting it in your pocket most of the time, the fluff from your trousers can get into the port. The best way to clean it would be to use a toothpick and a cotton bud to remove and dust or dirt that can cause charging problems with your ecig. For the ego style pens, clean the 510 connector on the top that makes contact with the plug on the battery charger. Dirty connections may appear to you that this would never happen but we have seen it alot in the past so don't ignore it.

This only applies to you if you have the simple cheap ego style ecig vape pens. Basically there are two wires inside the plug that go into the square looking box that has a light on it. If you quick twist your electronic cigarette about, the wires can become broken off. What you need to do is get a flat head screwdriver and open the box up to see if they need soldering back on. Chances are the wires are disconnected if the ecig battery charger stays green all the time even when plugged in.
