The last thing you want is a stripped head on your vape mod. It can cause problems when trying to screw in a ecig tank and cause connections problems. This tends to happen due to overtightening, which can cause wear of the teeth found on the metal connector that holds everything in place. How old your tank is doesn’t really matter, I have seen new tanks been damaged due to poor use. In most cases, if you are good with soldering then its recommended that you replace the stripped 510 thread connector. However, if you want to try bringing some life back into it then you can try a quick clean. Believe it or not, cleaning a stripped 510 connector can make it hold again, as the eliquid and dirt can cause slippage when screwing the tank back on. I actually tried it and it worked, so not sure whether the 510 connector was stripped or it need just cleaning. Its something worth giving a try anyway before you consider other methods, so what you will need is an old toothbrush to start things off.
1) Remove the 18650 battery from the vape mod
that you want to fix.
2) Unscrew the tank from the stripped screw thread if
there is one currently fitted on half way.
3) Pour one drop of washing up liquid directly
into the 510 connector.
4) Using your old unwanted toothbrush,
scrub in circular motions directly inside it. This will easily break off any
dirt particles or old ejuice residue.
5) Once you have done that, get a dry cotton bud
and clean out any remains in the 510 connector.
6) Make sure its fully dry before attaching your
ecig tank back on.
Hopefully this guide has brought your old vape mod back to life.
