Most ecig vape mods these days are designed to look like a box. This is usually due to the size of the batteries that are required to make the mod complete. I do find it difficult to carry mods with multiple 18650 batteries such as the RX200 by WISMEC, so this will be interesting to review for you guys. Most high wattage mods are huge in size and tend to look like a brick rather than an ecig. I remember my first ecig was an ego style pen design, at the time when vaping was new, it was very popular. But, now as times have changed and vaping has grown tremendously to a whole new level and now the Kanger Subvod Mega TC Starter Kit has arrived. If you want something compact that can easily slip in and out of your bag or pocket this mod is perfect for your everyday needs.

As always let’s start with opening the box. Since this is a starter kit, it contains everything you need to get setup right away. It comes with the mod with an integrated battery, the Kanger 4ml sub tank, two coils 0.15ohm nickel pre-installed and the regular 0.5ohm coil for non-TC mode. Like all mods in the box, this one also comes with instructions and a USB cable. One thing I liked about the box is the actual presentation of it. You can see the mod and the tank attached together through a clear window, making it presentable if you are going to gift this to somebody that is trying to stop smoking.

The feel of the mod is great. It is light and very easy to grip into your hand. Due to the design being like a pen, it resembles smoking a regular cigarette and gives you that pulling feeling. This is something that I like about it and is a plus for heavy smokers that have been on the cigs for years. Another thing to mention is that it doesn’t have a screen. No fancy menus and confusing settings, it is simple to use and is controlled by one button. The light will change and indicate the different mode it is in. Making it the perfect vape pen for the most non-techy person out there.

After giving it a good charge for a few hours before reviewing the Kanger Subvod Mega TC Starter Kit, I primed the pre-installed TC coil to ensure good performance right out of the box. The temperature control feature works create for a little device this is. It is simple to activate, simply click the three times and it will change green. The adjustable air flow works well to tighten or make the vapor airier depending on if you want a mouth to lung hit. The other coil that is supplied in the box works well in normal regular mode and throws a decent amount of clouds. It won’t fill your room with thick fog, but if you quickly need that nicotine fix this will do the trick perfectly for the price it retails at.

The battery life I would say is good for the size it is. The specifications on the manufacturers website show that the output wattage range is between 35-40 watts. So, the 2300 mAh capacity will last a long time as not many amps are going to be drawn. The average charging cycle for this mod is around 1200 charges, after that the battery performance will start to degrade. Even though it doesn’t have an OLED screen, it still has a low battery warning indicator on the button that is handy.

Would I recommend you to buy it? 100% without any questions, its light and portable. For the price is it currently retailing for at most ecig vendors, you can’t go wrong. It won’t make you the biggest clouds, but the tank is great for flavour chasers and the 4ML e-juice capacity is more than enough to hold a days’ worth of juice.
