If you are experiencing problems with your ecig vape pen battery and it keeps flashing when charging, then you will to attempt to clean the 510 connectors on the battery. Since this is exposed often dirty and old e-juice can get inside it and dry up causing poor electrical contact. It is normal for the ecig battery to flash three times when screwed into the charger, as it confirms that it is connected but it shouldn’t happen continually all the time. Right let’s get down to cleaning the 510 connectors.

1) Remove the ecig from the battery charger if plugged in.

2) The metal connector that you will see at the top of the vape pen is called the ‘510’ connector.

3) Get some rubbing alcohol and pour a few drops into the connector and give it a good clean with an old toothbrush. If you don’t have rubbing alcohol you can use water, it should do the same thing in the most cases. Just remember to dry it off afterwards.

4) Also, clean the 510 connector on the bottom of the tank and the socket on the charger that goes into the mains. When cleaning the mains socket USB charger, please remember to turn it off and remove it, to prevent any risk of electrical shock. I know its only 5 volts but just to be on the safe side.

5) Once you cleaned the 510 connectors on the tank, battery and charger the problem with the battery flashing should be fixed at this stage.

In most cases when a ecig vape pen battery start blinking nonstop, cleaning the metal connectors will fix the problem, as its very rare that we have seen that it’s a hardware fault. If cleaning doesn’t work the problem is most likely with either the charger or the battery. Don’t use your ecig if you are having these problems, there could be a fault with the protection circuit and you could risk it blowing up. The battery light flashing all the time is a sign there is something wrong when charging, so don’t ignore it do something about it. Keep on vaping and stay healthy.
