This is not a proper form of vaporizing because it combusts and heats the herbs far hotter than they should get. The accurate and more precise way of creating vapor is the convection method. This is where the dry herb sits inside a chamber with the heat surrounding it. As the herbs get warmer, they produce vapor. The difference between taste is night and day, with the convection method proving to be a much better design.

More advanced herbal vapes are starting to go the hybrid route, which mixes both kinds of heating method into one. Hybrid heating gives you the full flavor, along with the herb ready to be vaped right away, instead of waiting. Convection will make you wait about 30 seconds to a minute before the vapor is ready to be inhaled.
