Due to the SMOK TFV8 tanks that are sold in regions under
the EU regulations, the capacity of the tank is restricted to holding just 2ML
of ejuice. You may be wondering why the None EU edition and the EU edition of
the SMOK TFV8 vape tank looks the identical. SMOK have cleverly reduced the
tanks capacity by increasing the diameter of the coils. You will notice that
the EU edition coils are much bulkier compared to the regular versions of the
same coil. The extra space consumed by the coil itself reduced the tanks
capacity of around 50%. Now, if you are living in the UK you will notice that
the EU edition coils for the TFV8 baby beast tank only come in a pack of three and
are very expensive to purchase for your Rechargeable eCig.
Personally, I don’t understand why the EU has regulated all
vape tanks to be sold only as 2 ML in certain parts of the world, I just can’t
seem to justify this change. If users want to vape more, they will simply
either buy more e-liquid and fill up the tank more frequently. So, the
consumption will be the same like a regular full sized vape tank, you will just
have to fill up more often. If you are from the US, then you don’t need to
worry about the restricted tank capacity which is great.
I found the best way to get around the unnecessary 2ML restriction is to purchase the extension chimney piece or use a simple Disposable eCig. It is a small metal screw on part that makes the length of the standard chimney in your SMOK tank longer. This means you can stop using the expensive EU edition coils and purchase the standard sized coils. You can pick up the extension part on Ebay or Amazon for a few bucks. Your local vape shop is also most likely to stock these.

Testing the performance of the SMOK TFV8 EU edition vape tank with the extension piece fitted in, there was no difference to the performance. This provided me to use standard coils and in the long term I found this to be much cheaper. You get the full 4ml capacity out of the tank, so you don’t have to keep refilling. Also, it reduces the chances of you burning the cotton if you are vaping on empty tank, as with having a 4ML tank it will hold more vape e-liquid. Installing the extension part is very simple, its best to install it once you have no e-juice left in the tank.
SMOK TFV8 BABY BEAST EXTENSION CHIMNEY PART |
1) To make the process easier, its best to remove
the vape tank from the mod. You don’t want to take the tank apart and have the
e-liquid leaking all over the 510 connector.
2) Head to a nearby sink either in your bathroom or
kitchen. Unscrew the bottom base from the top part of the vape tank.
3)
Drain any remaining e-liquid from the glass by
tipping it into the sink.
4)
Remove the glass part from the top part of the
tank. Give all the metal parts a clean under cold water and wipe them dry using
a towel.
5) Get the SMOK TFV8 extension piece and screw it
onto the top part of the exiting chimney. Make sure its fitted nice and tight
as you may run into leaking issues if its slightly loose.
6)
Place the glass back onto the top part of the
tank. Screw in your none EU coil head into the TFV8 coil base. Pour a few drops
of e-liquid into the centre and side wicking holes to get the cotton wet to
prevent any first-time dry hits. Then screw the top part with the glass back onto
the bottom part, again make sure it’s nice and tight.
7) Due to you installing a brand-new coil, its best
to prime it following the proper procedure that SMOK recommend in their user
manual and website. I always recommend before use that you fill the tank to the
top and allow it to sit for a full 15 minutes. This will provide sufficient
time for the juice to reach the cotton in the coil and allow it to get completely
soaked up. Failing to follow this procedure could result in your coil tasting
burnt. Once its tastes bad, you will have to throw it away and replace it. You
won’t be able to get rid of the nasty taste even if you clean it.
Adding the extension chimney piece to your restricted 2ML
SMOK TFV8 baby beast tank brings back its fully capacity that it was originally
designed for. You will now benefit from cheaper coils and you also don’t have
to fill it up as often.
