How To Stop a ECIG Vape Tank Getting HOT

If you have a sub ohm tank, you might be wondering why your ecig vape tank gets hot or even the mouthpiece. This usually doesn’t cause any problems or lead to your ecig blowing up in your face, however it can mean that it can be too hot to vape when you hold your mod or put your mouth on it when you vape. Here are some top tips that we have come up with that will allow you to stop your ecig from getting hot. Most regulated mods such as the ones you see in ecig shops with screen have built in overheating protection, so you got really nothing to worry about. But if you have a mech mod, a vape tank getting hot could be risky.

1) Turn down the watts. The more power you run to your ecig coils the more heat is going to be created in order to increase the range of vape clouds. If you want to keep your ecig tank cooler and prevent it from overheating, turn down the power. Or you can power vape that is a good idea, which is vaping at high watts for 2 puffs then backing it down for the other 3.

2) Don’t vape on sub ohm coils. The lower the ohm on the coil again more heat is going to be created because it pushing more amps on your battery. Purchase or build coils that are at least 1 ohm or above. This will ensure a cooler vape that also tastes better as well, but you may notice that cloud production goes down slightly.

3) Open up the air flow. On the bottom of the tank you will notice that you will holes scattered around the base of it. These are air flow channels that keep the coil cool and also have an effect on what type of vape you are after. Open it fully, if you vape with them closed a little bit and see if it makes any differences getting a cool vape from your ecig.

4) Take a break. Don’t chain, puffing on your ecig can be pleasing but it can make the device hot. If you vape for 5 minutes nonstop, then we advise you to put the mod down for 1 minute for it to cool down. As it can’t be good for the 18650 battery.
