Lots of people have recently messaged our blog stating how can they remove a stuck vape coil inside their Aspire Nautilus tank. Even I have noticed this problem recently, so I guess it’s a design flaw of some kind. This is a great tank for many reasons when it came out, one being it has a 5ml Pyrex glass capacity and an air flow control that adjusts how much eliquid gets feed into the coil head. For a compact little tank, it does look cool and was something amazing when it came out back in 2014. Even till today, coil replacements are still available from your local shops and still has a great fitment on ego styles pens, without looking to overly bulky. The only disadvantage is it’s not a sub ohm tank, coils are available in 1.6 ohms and 1.8 ohms, great for flavour but for big clouds not really. If you are still using this tank and the coil is stuck in the chimney, it’s not broken. All you will need a pair of plyers to remove it. We explain how.
There are a few ways to remove it, some are better than others. I experienced when trying to fix my own tank
that I broke the coil while trying to remove it. This was because I grabbed the
bottom part of the coil, which takes it apart. So, guys from my experience its safer
to grip the coil from the top part, the first bit that goes into the chimney,
as the bottom is the weak point. I mean if you don’t want to keep the existing
coil and want to change it with a new one then I guess this doesn’t really
matter as such.
1) Get a towel and place it over the top part of the tank. This will provide
you with extra grip, so it doesn't slip out when trying to remove the stuck
coil from the Aspire Nautilus vape tank.
2) Place your hand over the towel and grip the top part of the tank firmly.
3) Open the teeth of your plyers and place it over the top part of the coil.
Press down the handle and get a good grip of it using your other hand.
4) Holding the top part of the tank straight with strong force, press down
on the handles of the plyers and turn them anticlockwise. After some force, the
stuck coil in the Aspire Nautilus vape tank will come off. You can then finish
unscrewing it from the chimney with your hand.
Remember to prevent this in future, ensure that the coil is fully screwed
into the base properly. The common cause to the coil getting stuck in the
chimney on the Aspire Nautilus is because of it not being properly fitted. It
could also mean that the shape of the screw that goes into the base could be
worn out and is not securely fitting in, hence why its gets pulled into the
chimney when you take your tank apart.
