How To Clean a E-Cigarette Battery Without Breaking Anything

cleaning a ecig battery with a cotton bud at home

Its recommend that you clean your e-cigarette battery regularly to ensure reliability always. The last thing you want is your vape pen battery not working, especially when you are on a quick outside break at work. It is ideal to clean it every week to ensure good hygiene standards and prevent dirt or old ejuice remains gunking up on the metal 510 connector. If this gets dirty in anyway, it can easily cause problems with your ecig not working and can also contribute towards charging problems. Most of the time, the vape ecig battery needs a simple quick clean rather than a replacement. The two main things you are going to need are some rubbing alcohol and a cotton swap. If you don't have rubbing alcohol, please don't use water. It can damage the connector or even worse cause an electrical short, it’s something that’s not safe to do. Its best to purchase it instore or order it online and wait for the correct cleaning product to arrive before you proceed cleaning your ecig battery.

1) Its advisable that you power off your e-cigarette battery pen by clicking the fire button five times. If you leave it powered on while you are cleaning, technically there is still power going out to the 510 connector if you press the circle firing button, which could technically cause a major short. Best way to avoid further problems is to turn your ecig off. Simple.

2) Look at the top of the battery, you will see a metal connector that the vape tank fits on and screws into. Pour a little rubbing alcohol onto one side of the cotton bud. Using the wet side, create a circular motion and begin to clean inside the connector, to this for a about 10 seconds or so. Once you are done, use the other remaining dry side on your cotton bud to wipe it dry. Leave the ecig battery for a couple of minutes to allow any remains of rubbing alcohol to dry off.

3) You can now screw the vape tank back onto your e-cigarette battery. Hopefully, all your ecig battery related problems are now resolved. If you are still facing problems, then it’s also recommended that you clean the 510 connector on the bottom of your vape tank and charger as the process is the same. If problems still persists, then its most likely a hardware fault. Its best to test out different parts with another mod to work out what exactly is causing the problem for your ecig to not fire up.
