The main component of an ecig is the vape coil that attached inside the tank. How it works is the battery provides power to the heating elements inside, which is a bit of metal wire wrapped around some cotton. Once it is heated up,which is very quickly, it will then vaporise the eliquid turning it into vapor to smoke. If the vape coil for some reason is not working inside your ecig vape pen from your local vendor, then basically your device is useless. There are many causes to a not working ecig vape coil. Before we start with the in depth technical troubleshooting, we must start with the basics first. Ensure that your battery is fully charged and the mod is switched on. It might not be obviously straight away, but your coils might not be firing because of a dead 18650 battery that needs charging. If you think the battery is fine, just to make sure try your 18650 battery in another mod if you have one. Sometimes the mod itself can be the problem, it could be a defect or even a fault in the charging USB port. It could also be the USB charger or the wire you are using that is causing your ecig battery to not charge up fully.
Now that you have done the basis, hopefully you
have found the problem and your ecig is back on the road ready to go. If the
vape ecig coil is still not working, then you will have to proceed next with
more problem-solving instructions. Your vape juice will not taste good with a bad coil, so see if you can fix with our handy guide.
Dirty Connection: This is the
number one of cause to a ecig producing no vapor. If the connections is interrupted
between the battery mod and the tank, the coil will not function. Even the
slightest dirt or previous remains of dried up ejuice can cause bad connection
problems. Want you want to do is first unscrew the vape tank from your mod.
Then you are now ready to clean the male and female 510 connectors with some
rubbing cleaning alcohol with a tissue. Reattach the tank back on, press the
fire button and see if your ecig is now producing any kind of vapor. If the
vape is still not firing after this first fix, proceed with the next step.
Coil not seated properly: A lose
coil that is fitted not properly into the base can cause problems with it
functioning. It has got to be seated properly, pushed down and screwed tight.
You will need to take your tank apart to check this. Turn the bottom of the
tank anticlockwise, the glass with come off the bottom part. The coil will be
wet from ejuice if its already been used, so grab it with a tissue and unscrew
it out. Cleaning the bottom base, wiping it down and refit it in screwing it
nice and tight. If you are building your own coils in a RBA, then make sure your
home-made coils are tightened securely with the Allen key and that they are not
touching each other. Also, make sure there is no old snipped off wire remains
inside the juice well, as this can also cause a short circuit.
Resistance might be too low: The
coil might look perfectly fine, but the main question is, is it compatible with
your device. Even though the tank screws into the mod fine, you need to check
the ohm resistance the coil is and what your mod supports. For example, if you
are trying to build your own coils at a low sub ohm level, let’s say 0.02 ohms
and your mod only supports 0.05 ohms or above, then the device is going to shut
itself off, as it is a regulated mod. Check the manufacturer specs and see what
they say as it could be interesting.
This helpful vaping guide should have fixed your
ecig vape coil that’s not working. If unfortunately, you are still facing this
problem, then what I can suggest is that you try out a new coil from your local vape shop, a new tank or perhaps a new
vape mod. Switch them over in different combinations to rule out what is at
fault. You can purchase the Nanostix if you are looking for a replacement vape device if you're on a budget.
