The best thing about vaping is the choice of different flavours that are presented to you. With smoking a regular cigarette, you get the same tobacco flavour. But with not only the great health benefits of vaping, you also get great taste. If you are the sort of person that keeps switch between different flavours as you get bored of using the same one continuously all the time, then you will need to clean you vape tank for your new flavour. Cleaning your ecig vape tank gets rid of all old remains of ejuice, so it doesn't mix in with the new stuff. If you mix them together, you won't get the taste of the new flavour straight away and when it gets to the new flavour it will always taste muted. If you don't like the idea of regularly having to clean your vape tank for a new flavour, then its best to use multiple tanks. So, a tank and coil for each flavour, so when you want to change flavours you can switch over the tank and vape right away. However, this also does have a disadvantage that is tanks and coils are expensive. To have at least three tanks with different flavours it will cost you $70 which is enough money to purchase another mod. Something I leave you to think about for later on.
Now that you know a bit about switching different ecig flavours, its time to correctly switch flavours in your vape tank. To be fair it should not take you long at all, I would say around 5 minutes and even quicker once you get used to doing it. When cleaning the tank, its always best to use water because soapy liquids leave a weird taste behind and it can't be good vaping ejuice in tank like that. Right, let’s start by taking the ecig tank apart.
1) Click the
fire button the vape mod five times to lock it and power it off.
2) Holding the electronic vape pen in your hand, with the tank facing upwards, twist the bottom base off
anticlockwise while holding the battery mod. After a few turns the tank will
come off.
3) Now that you
have the tank off, you will need to take it apart. Hold the top part,
preferably the mouthpiece area and twist the bottom of the tank anticlockwise.
After a few turns, the glass and the base the coil is screwed into will come
off.
4) Head over to
your kitchen or bathroom sink with the parts you have. Wash the top part of the
tank and the glass in warm water. Remember no fancy cleaning products. Once you
have done that, wipe them dry with a towel. Make sure you please handle the
tank's glass with extreme care because if you place too much pressure on it,
the glass could crack or shatter. Find a sunny window in your house and leave
the parts to dry out in the window sil for about 5 minutes.
5) Its best to
clean the coil as well for best possible flavour for new juice. To remove the
coil from your tank simply to unscrew it you turn the coil head anticlockwise.
The coil will separate from the base. You also wash this in warm water.
However, the only main problem is that you can't use the coil while its still
wet. This is because the cotton inside will be soaked with water and will short
out the coils. It could damage the coil altogether.
Thankfully, as always,
we have a way around everything that is vaping related, that is why we are so
popular. The best way to overcome a ecig coil that is not dry is to use a hair
dryer, this trick is awesome as I explain now. Simply place your washed coil
onto a flat surface, turn on your hair dryer and point it towards the coil. Go
in up and down strokes over the coil. This will instantly speed up the process
of drying the water inside the coil. I say around 5 minutes will be more than enough
for cotton to dry up inside the coil.
6) Once you have
cleaned the glass, coil and other metal parts of the tank, it is time to put everything
back together. Let’s start by screwing the coil back into the tank. Hold the
coil from the top and place it into the middle of the tanks base. Then turn it
clockwise and keep doing it until it is screwed in. Remember don’t overtighten
the coil into the base, this could strip the screw shape inside and it will be
a pain to get out later. Since you have washed off the old eliquid off the
current coil, you will need to treat it like a brand new one, this means you
will need to prime it. Priming is just a technical term for wetting the coil
before use. If you don't to this, it can risk the cotton inside not get soaked
probably with ejuice and can cause dry hits and other coil problems later.
The general guidelines
we follow at our vape shop are:
- Pour 5 drops of eliquid into the middle part of the coil
- Pour 2 drops in each wicking hole that you will see around the coil.
7) Once you have
primed the coil with plenty of eliquid, place the glass back onto the top part
of the tank and place it over the base. Screw the glass part clockwise, keeping
doing so until it locks securely into the base. If it’s not secure now, it will
cause eliquid to leak all over your tank later on, causing mess and waste
juice, something that nobody wants to deal with when you pull your vape mod out
of your pocket on a Sunday afternoon.
8) Screw the
tank back on the vape mod you want to use with it. Open the top filling hatch,
unscrew the cap off your eliquid, place the pointed nozzle directly into the
filling hole and squeeze the bottle. Keep filling until the top level. Remember,
try not to overfill the tank as this will cause the eliquid to come out of the
bottom air holes. Once you have filled your ecig tank, leave it upright and
leave it for 10 minutes before using it. This will provide more than enough sufficient
time for the coil to soak up with eliquid.
9) Thats it you
have cleaned and switched flavours in your vape tank. All you will need to do
now is simply vape away. You will now be able to get the fully 100% flavour out
of your new ejuice that you wanted to use, without the old one mixed in. No
more nasty taste. The only problem is that you must repeat this with it comes
to trying out a new flavour again, so make sure you buy a flavour that you
like.
