How To Clean a Vape Tank / Step by Step

Cleaning a vape tank is vital if you want to ensure you get the best flavour from your new flavour. It is also essential to clean the vape tank for hygiene purposes as sometimes dirt such as hairs can make their way into the glass from regular filling. You also don’t want to mix different ejuice flavours. I always ensure that I don't place my ejuice bottle in a pocket or something because it gathers dust and dirt and can sometimes stay stuck on the cap and nozzle of the vape juice. Cleaning a vape tank is important, however, applying the same to the mouthpiece or drip tip is just as important. If you regularly vape and eat at the same time, dirt will make its way into the mouthpiece, I always suggest you clean it at least once a week. I suggest you clean your vape tank when there is no ejuice left in it or the vape coil has gone bad and you're getting dry hits. You don't want to be wasting ejuice as its expensive, however, you could empty the vape ejuice that is in the vape tank into a small container, so you can pour it back into the glass once you have cleaned the vape tank.

You will need to remove the vape tank from the vape mod. Firstly, it makes the cleaning process easier, you also don't want to get the battery in contact with any water as its electrical and not a good idea too. This will only result in the vape battery getting damaged from water. Removing the vape tank is simple to do, you simply hold it from the top turn it anticlockwise, while holding the battery part at the bottom in a still position. After a few turns, the vape tank will become undone, it shouldn’t take long.

Next step is to open the vape tank. Before you start pulling things apart, I need to make you aware not to apply pressure onto the glass of the vape tank. Although its Pyrex glass, it tends to crack if you apply lots of force onto it and the same time. Gently, hold the vape tank from the top, while holding the bottom part of the vape tank, the part where it’s got airflow control still. After a few turns, the glass will become detached from the base which the vape coil sits in.

Remove the coil from the base and place it to one side. Now you will have the glass, bottom half and the top half, housing the drip tip all split up into different pieces. What you need to do now is rinse them individually one by one under a cold tape. Coldwater will be perfect and remember don't use any cleaning products as these can leave chemicals inside the plastic parts, even when washed off and vaping from that can't be healthy at all.

Once you have washed the different parts, give them a dry by using a towel that is unused and clean. Don't use tissues paper when drying because the tissues tend to break into small pieces when wet and when that happens, it’s hard to pick out of the metal grooves inside the vape tank.

Once everything is dry, screw the coil back into the base and reprime it with your favourite vape juice from your local vape shop. Pour a few drops into the centre and also a few drops into the wicking holes. Place the glass back onto the top part and place the glass over the bottom half. Once everything is lined up and it is seated correctly, then turn the top half clockwise so the glass locks into place.

Finally, the last part is to fill up the vape tank with brand new fresh ejuice from the smoke shop near me. Using the same vape juice you used earlier on to reprime the vape coil, open the filling hatch and begin the fill the glass up. Remember not to overfill because when you close the hatch, it needs some room to close and if the glass is full right to the top, when you close the hatch it will come out. This will make you automatically assume that there are leaking issues with your vape tank when this is not the case.
