How To Fix SMOK TFV8 Dry Hit Burnt Taste Fix

If you want a powerful sub ohm tank that produces thick tasteful clouds, then you want to consider the SMOK TFV8. It comes in three versions, the cloud beast, the big baby beast and the baby beast, the size and power handling is reduced in the smaller versions that have also been released. We have noticed that a lot of our customers are experiencing dry hits with their cheap SMOK TFV8 tank. A dry hit is basically a burnt cotton taste left in your mouth when you vape. This can be very unpleasant and can put you off vaping for a while. The reason why a dry hit occurs during vaping is when the cotton that is placed around the coil is not wet enough. So, when you hit the fire button, the cotton has no e-liquid to burn and instead burns the cotton itself.

Now nobody wants to vape burnt cotton into their lungs. It might be still safer than smoking, but the taste will be off-putting. To prevent a dry hit on your SMOK tank, you need to ensure that you prime the coil. If you have purchased your tank, inside the box you will see a small card provided by SMOK that clearly states that the coils should be primed before use. Most people ignore the important information provided in the papers that come with the products, hence why they are not satisfied with their vaping setup.

Priming a coil is very easy and is only done with a new coil. When a coil is new, the cotton inside is fresh and not wet at all. Priming allows the cotton to forcefully get aborted with e-liquid preventing any dry hits to occur on your baby beast tank. I have also learned a great trick that will also reduce the likelihood of dry hits and increase the lifespan of the coil. If you poke two to three holes into the cotton placed around the coils wicking holes, it will help the e-liquid get into the coil head.

1) Get a needle and punch two to three holes around the coil directly into the wicking holes.

2) Pour two to three drops of e-liquid all around the coil head.

3) Also, pour some extra e-juice into the center of the coil to ensure best possible results to avoid the horrible burnt taste. Wetting the coil prevents any kind of wicking issues to occur later.

4) Screw the glass back onto the bottom half of the tank.

5) With the vape tank facing upright, flick open the hatch found at the top of the SMOK TFV8 tank to access the filling hole. Fill the tank to the top with your favourite e-liquid.

6) Now that you have successfully primed your coil and filled the vape tank up, please allow it to sit for 10 minutes. This will ensure that there is sufficient time provided to ensure the cotton inside the coil head is fully soaked up with e-liquid. When vaping on a new coil, remember to start at a low wattage and gradually increase it. Vaping a fresh coil on maximum wattage will not break it in and can increase the chances of a dry hit on your baby beast tank.
