In vaping, there are two types of filling
designs. Bottom fill is when you must unscrew the glass tank from the base,
turning it around and pouring directly into the glass. This is a very old
method of filling and you don't really see this anymore due to the inconvenience.
Thanks to SMOK’s cleverly design, they have included a top filling design with all
their TFV8 and new style tanks that get released 2017 onwards. It has a hatch that you can open and close, which means
you don't have to take the tank apart to fill it up. This makes it easier if
you want to fill a vape tank up with e-liquid if you are walking or driving.
There will be fewer chances of you
spilling e-liquid all over the place. Once you have got your favorite e-liquid, follow the instructions
below to help you fill up your brand new SMOK tank.
A preinstalled coil is already fitted when the vape
tank left the factory. Since it is new you don't want to experience any dry
hits, so we will start with priming coil. In simple words, priming the coil
allows the cotton inside to get directly soaked up with e-liquid. This will
prevent the SMOK branded vape tank getting dry hits when you vape it for the first
time.
1) Unscrew the glass part from the bottom of the base.
You will now see a preinstalled vape coil in the middle of the vape tank.
2) If you are a nicotine user, ensure that you
have applied the nicotine shot into the bottle. Give it a good shake and let it
sit for a few minutes. Once you have done that, apply two drops in each wicking
holes that are found all around the coil
head. It will be a small hole with white cotton you can't miss it. To ensure
the coil is fully soaked, go ahead and apply some e-liquid into the center of the coil.
3) Place the glass back onto the bottom part of
the vape tank and screw it back on. Now let’s get to the filling part.
4) If you look at the top part of the vape tank,
you will see the word 'OPEN' and an arrow pointing to a certain direction.
Simply flick the hatch towards the direction the arrow is pointing to. Once you
have flicked open the hatch, you will see a tiny filling hole. Insert the
filling nozzle found on the end of your e-liquid bottle and begin to squeeze.
The e-liquid will transfer from the bottle to the glass. Monitor the fill level
and stop when it gets to the top to prevent
any kind of overfilling.
5) Since you coil is practically brand new at
this point, you will need to allow the vape tank to sit upright in a set
position for at least 10 minutes. This will provide enough time for the e-juice
to reach into the cotton and soak everything up nicely for the first time. Once
the time is up, you can begin to vape on it. Remember
to break it in by starting at low wattage first, taking a few hits and
then slowly bumping it to the recommended wattage range, which can be found
printed on the coil.
That’s all there is to filling up the vape tank. It’s not at all and remember to always
prime you coil before the first use. If you don't, you will not get the full flavor from your vape tank at all. Once that
burnt taste is there, you will have to bin the coil as you can't get rid of it.
When I was a new vapor, I didn't prime the coils hence why I went through a
pack of 5 in 1 week. But now, of course, I am an advanced vapor now and it's my
job to also educate the ones that have recently got into vaping. To encourage new
vapers and to make their experience as best as possible and be there to answer
any questions or concerns you might have. Remember, if you are not smoking cigarettes,
no matter what device you are vaping on, keep going because tobacco is now old
news to get nicotine in your system. Vaping is the way forward.
