To ensure you maximise the amount of flavour you are getting from your vape pen, you will need to ensure that you correctly prime the coil before using it for the first time. We have many people informed us that they have changed brand new coils several times, however each time they keep dry hitting when vaped on. Let me explain what priming is and why it is important in the vaping world. Priming a vape coil ensures the white cotton that is stuffed around the coil is nicely soaked with e-liquid. So that when you hit the on the button on your vape mode, the coil heats up the vape liquid and not the dry cotton. If the dry cotton is heated up, this will cause the cotton to dry out and become burnt. Once the cotton has been burnt out, you cant get rid of this taste, which is why it is important to prime the vape coil correctly for the first time. Washing the coil will not work in getting the flavour back, once the coil has gone bad you will need to throw it away.
Here is what I exactly do to ensure my vape coil is fully primed at its best. Been using this method for several years and works a treat for me. So it gives me the idea to will share it on my vape blog to help others be aware too of what works best. Before priming anything, you need to ensure that you are using original manufacturer replacement coils. Poor quality fakes or aftermarket coils and never as good as the actual coils from the people that make the vape tank. Although they may be slightly cheaper, it’s not a good approach and sometimes this can lead to a bad vape and you changing coils each time because you can never get good flavour, even though you primed correctly already.
My only recommendation would be to follow this guide only if you have an original coil replacement to be fitted into your vape tank.
1) Once you have fitted your vape coil into the base of the vape tank you will need to prime it with 100mg nicotine base e-liquid of your choice. I recommend using a needle to poke two small holes in every large wicking hole that is placed around the vape coil. This is an old trick that vape shops use to help the e-liquid reach into the cotton faster while vaping to prevent it from drying out.
2) Apply two to three drops of vape liquid into each wicking hole. This should be enough if you do it all around the vape coil. Don't get carried away applying loads because it will overfill the cotton and will cause leaking problems later.
3) Also, you want to apply further e-liquid down the centre of the coil head, you know the part when you look straight through the coil and you can see it spiralling down. Apply e-liquid pour it all over the coil insides, again don't overfill. This in most situations is enough to ensure the vape coil is fully primed in.
4) Once you have reattached the glass back onto the vape tank, I always recommend that you fill it up the to the highest level with your favourite ejuice. Then allow the vape tank that is attached to a vape mod to be upright for a minimum of 10 minutes.
5) Before vaping for the first time on a brand new vape coil, I always suggest that you close the air holes and suck inwards into the mouthpiece three times. This will ensure that the vape liquid gets soaked into the cotton. For your first vape to break the brand new vape coil in, I suggest that you vape from 15 watts take a few puffs then work you're way up in 5 watts increments until you reach the recommended wattage range.
If you have followed all above, you have successfully primed your brand new vape coil to get the best out of it. This will ensure you get the best possible flavour from your purity clouds nicotine base ejuice and increase the lifespan of your vape coil. Following this procedure will guarantee to give you solid taste and performance for a 1 week if you chain vape, potentially even more if you regularly vape.
