How To Change The Vape Coil On Your Vape Pen For The First Time

vape cartoon

Vaping is far better on our health than smoking. With vaping, there is no tar or smoke, just flavourful vapor that is produced from e-liquid with a hint of nicotine for your smoking habit. If you are new to vaping, your starter kit will come with everything you need to get setup. There will also be in most cases a couple of different ohm replacement vape coils inside the box for you to try. A vape coil is fitted inside the vape tank so that the ejuice can be transformed into vapor. How a vape coil works are, a coil that is wrapped around cotton which is used as a heating element heats up the ejuice when you activate the power button and within seconds it turns into vapor.

Over time, of using the same coil you will notice the performance will drop and so will the flavor. The average lifespan for most vape coils is around 1 week, it could be higher if you vape less or on low watts or cloud also be less than 1 week if you are a cloud chaser or a chain vaper. Remember, when purchasing replacements coils that you ensure that you only purchase originals. Cheap copies tend to not have enough cotton inside and I find using third party coils usually results in dry hits after a few days or if not straight after priming it.

Speaking of priming, priming a brand-new coil for the first time is very important. This is because if you don't prime correctly, it may hinder the performance and taste of your brand new coil. Priming the coil is a technical term used in most vape shops that means soaking or wetting the coil before using it. This prevents the cotton to be dry when pressing the power on button for the first time to take a vape. Once you have burned out the coil by not priming it, the burnt dry hit taste will never go away and you also can't clean the coils either with water to get rid of the bad taste.

Manufactures like SMOK and Aspire have a few different coils options to select for your type of tank. There are different coil designs and wires used to provide a different ohm reading. In most cases the lower the ohms, the less electrical resistance there is between the coil and the battery on your vape device. This means more heat is generated by the coil, which results in a more intense flavor and bigger clouds. However, because it is pulling more amps from your vape battery, this also means the battery life will also decrease. You will need to make sure the ohms the vape coil you’re going to use for your device is safe to use with the type of battery you are using. Please learn about the ohms law before considering a safe replacement coil for the type of battery that you are going to use it on.

Right, let’s get to changing the coil on your vape device for the very first time. It's quick and easy once you know how to do it.

1) I suggest heading over to the sink. This is because things can get messy when opening the vape tank, as ejuice can get all over the place.

2) Remove the vape tank from the mod by twisting it off anticlockwise.

3) Once you have done, you will need to access the vape coil that is screwed inside the glass. This is straightforward, using one hand hold the base firmly and using your remaining hand turn the tank anticlockwise. After repeating a few turns, the glass with eventually detach from the base.

4) You will see the vape coil placed in the center. You will need to remove it by twisting it out in the anticlockwise direction. Once you have done that, please throw it into the bin.

5) I suggest that give the glass a rinse and all parts of the vape tank, followed by wiping them down with a towel. This is because you don't want the old flavor to mix with the new ejuice that you are going to use.

6) Pop your new vape coil from the foil packet that it comes with supplied inside the box. Line up the vape coil with the base and begin to turn it clockwise until it locks in. I always suggest that you don't overtighten it too much because it is a pain to get out next time when you change the vape coil.

7) Now that you have installed the brand new vape coil on your vape pen, you will need to prime the vape coil for the first time. This is very simple to do. Simply unscrew the cap from your ejuice bottle and pour two to three drops directly into the wicking holes and a few drops in the centre.

8) Place the glass back over the coil and turn the top part of the vape tank clockwise to secure it into place. The last thing to do now is to fill the vape tank to the very top. This will ensure that the coil get’s the most ejuice inside it to ensure that it gets primed correctly. Please allows a minimum of ten minutes without using the vape pen to ensure that the coil gets fully soaked up.
