How To Update Smok G Priv Upgrade Firmware

The smok g priv ecig vape pen mod is touchscreen based which gives it the extra cool factor over normal ecig mods. It may only hold two 18650 batteries but its more than sufficient for most people, if you want to go into cloud chasing there are other alternative other there. At the time of writing this post, the latest firmware version is v1.8, so if you are on the older v.17 its worth upgrading. The update contains bug that is fixed that caused problems with the date and time. Other than that, there is no power increasing or anything that will give you a better vape. Maybe as time progresses there will be updates upcoming throughout the year that will include more features. A good idea that we can suggest to SMOK is to add flash based games on there, since it has a big color screen. This will be fun in between vaping to give you a little break of things and keep you entertained.

For you to update the firmware on your Smok G Priv ecig, you will need a micro to usb cable and it being charged above 70%. The last thing you want is your ecig batteries not charged when its updating, as you never know this can brick the device and stop it from working altogether.

1) Go onto the SMOK website and download the SMOK G Priv firmware update.

2) Unzip the folder that you have just downloaded.

3) Once you have done that, click onto the 'G-PRIV - update' icon. This will launch the firmware updater tools for your SMOK ecig vape pen.

4) Now click down the fire button holding it down and connect the ecig to the computer via the usb charging cable.

5) Click on the 'Scan' button for it to pick up your mod. Followed by clicking on connect.

6) If you get a message on your computer screen saying 'Connect device success, can be upgraded' there you are in business.

7) Click 'Open' and find the .bin file in the zip folder you extracted earlier on. Thats it click the 'Update' button and the firmware on your SMOK G priv will now upgrading. There will be a little bar that will display in the tool how much of the firmware has been transferred across.

8) Once the firmware upgrade on your SMOK G priv is completed, it will then tell you onscreen that it is finished you can then unplug it from your computer.
