Technically its just like any other vape tank that you use, its the coil that is sub ohm. This means that its rated below one, the lower it is rated at, the less electrical resistance which means more power is going to be pulled from the battery, based on same wattage. For example, a 0.5 ohm coil will produce more clouds than a 1.0 ohm coils.

What are the benefits of sub ohm vaping?

The main benefits you get with a sub ohm tank vs a regular one is more clouds and a warmer vape with slightly more flavour. If you are a cloud chaser and you want huge clouds in the air, a sub ohm tank is required regardless.

Yes a few. You will notice that you will go through more eliquid quicker than normal. You will also find out that coils don't last as long and they can be more expensive than a simple tank. Since sub ohm tanks require more power to get up there standard, this means turning up the wattage which results in a shorter battery life.
