Vaping is nothing like smoking traditional cigarettes, but
those who are unfamiliar with it often think the two activities are the same,
and see both as equally detrimental for the user and those nearby. Let us have
a look why vaping might be getting such a bad rap.
Firstly, I think it's safe to say that anything that is
associated with smoking is not going to be seen as positive in the eyes of the
general public or health professionals. Yet is not so long ago that doctors
would be puffing away in their practices telling people they should be doing the
same, as it was beneficial for stress and health in general. Therefore one can
forgive them for thinking vaping may also have the same negative effects that
we now know cigarettes induce, causing
cancer and other serious diseases.
But it must be acknowledged that vaping is at least 90%
better health wise then traditional tobacco products, and for this reason it is
getting a terrible deal thanks to the media who are backed by the tobacco
industry.
You can Google something general about vaping, and you will
find loads of results on the first pages with titles like "Why do vape
cigarettes explode", “Why vaping is worse than smoking”, Problems with vaping atomizers" and
similar titles. But the explosive thing is a beginner’s issues, and of course,
problems occur when people do not take the time to learn how to do an activity
that involves an electronic device correctly.
E-cigs explode
because the vaper is using a mod without a cut-out, and has probably overcharged
the device or left it unattended. Running too much power through a mod or coil
that wasn't made for this is obviously going to bring problems, and the fault
should lie with the user rather than the device.
To support our hobby and community make sure you get your
voice heard! There are a lot of vape advocacy support groups around the world
with many more popping up as the argument for vaping continues. So join a
group, and discuss the issue with others that have your same interests and
goals at heart.
We do not believe that vapers need to be regulated, as we
have self-regulated since we began vaping! Liquids are produced in childproof
bottles, there are safety warnings on containers and all electronic devices.
New moderate legislation will not affect vapers to much of
an extent, because we already use common sense and employ these rules anyway!
So join a vape group and keep up-to-date with the latest news in your country
and get your opinions heard. We must protect vaping and do our utmost to prevent
government bodies saying otherwise.
