If your vape pen battery is not charging, don't panic. In most cases, it is usually something simple that goes wrong. Vape battery not charging problems usually incur due to a faulty mains USB wall plug, bad charging cable, faulty batteries or even a faulty mod. Today, in this article we are going to cover everything you need to know to fix your broken vape mod. This will usually save you some money to purchase a new mod that in most cases is unnecessary.
1) It might be the wall socket you are using or a faulty main to USB adapter. Try using another compatible USB adapter such as the one used for your smartphone that has an USB socket on the front of it. Attempt to also use a different main wall socket in your house, to see what the potential problem could be. Sometimes the mains sockets can shut off due to a shortage in the electrical breaker or the mains adapter can fail. If you don't have a spare mains adapter, plug in the USB cable into a PC computer or games console to see if your vape battery charges. If no success, move onto the next step.
2) Try a different charging cable. Overtime, plugging and unplugging, the tiny wires inside the vape charging cord break off, it’s the same with mobile phone cables. Try a different charging wire to see if the problem goes away. Make sure the wire is brand new and not a broken spare of any kind because you won't be able to rule out the problem then.
3) It could be the charging socket on your vape mod. Give it a quick clean using a cotton bud and retest with your charging cable. If this doesn't resolve the vaping problem, then you can either try charging the batteries in your friend's vape mod. If you don't have a spare vape mod to test the batteries on, you can purchase an external charger. This will help you determine if the USB socket on the vape mod is bad. If the batteries charge using an external charger, then the USB socket on your device is faulty. You could resolder it in place or replace it with the same kind, however this type of repair without a correct soldering iron can be tricky and stressful. At this stage, i would recommend that you purchase a replacement vape mod.
4) If the batteries are not charging, chances are the 18650 battery has given up. If your vape mod uses multiple batteries, you will need to replace them all at the same time, as you can't mix new batteries with old ones. Order a fresh pair of original batteries from a reputable vaping shop either online or instore.
