Vape Mods vs Pod Systems

The vaping industry has gone through a variety of changes since it was first introduced. One of the most impactful changes has been the uprising of the pod system devices. This new style of vaping devices has only become popular over the last couple of years with the introduction of the smaller devices. Both bigger mods and pod systems have certain advantages and disadvantages. To assist your decision as to which one will help you in quitting smoking more, we are going to dive into both types of vapes. You can also check out a vape shop near you and ask to see both types of devices.

First, it’s important to understand the difference between vape mods and pod systems are, as someone who is new to vaping or someone who is interested in making the switch from smoking to vaping might be unaware. A vape mod, which can also be called a mod or box mod, among other names, is a vape that normally consists of a casing, batteries, and a removable atomizer, which holds the juice and coil- most commonly, a tank. Modern mods are usually adjustable in wattage; however, some box mods are not adjustable, which means they fire at a set wattage. You can get mods with removable batteries, which can be charged on an external charger, or with internal batteries that cannot be accessed, only charged through a port on the device.

Next, we have the pod systems, which are simpler. Pod systems are a smaller, sleeker style of device. They commonly consist of 2 parts, the battery unit and the pod. Most times, they are locked at a lower power. These systems are generally charged through a port on the device. Pods are the atomizer, containing a coil and juice inside of them. Some pods are closed, meaning the company sells the pod full of juice and they are meant to be thrown away when the juice in them is finished, and some are refillable, meaning pods are sold separately from juice and can be refilled until desired. It is common to find a pod system with draw fire, which means instead of hitting a button, as soon as you inhale from the device, it will activate. Many people who use CBD oil and want to try vaping CBD choose pod style devices.

Vape mods normally produce more vapor and pod systems often only output a relatively small amount of vapor, similar to the amount of smoke from a cigarette. Box mods will use a lower nicotine strength because of the increased power and vapor production; they can be vaped frequently at lower strengths. Pod systems are often used with a high nicotine level, meant to mimic the same level of nicotine as a cigarette, however, they are intended to be used only as frequently as a cigarette.

Pod systems have benefits in that the reduced vapor production is less obtrusive to others in public, they are closer in form and application to a cigarette, which can help some people when making the switch from cigarettes to vaping, and pods are normally more convenient to change than the coils of a vape mod. Box mods have benefits in that they you can use them more frequently, they are versatile due to having adjustable wattage and the ability to change atomizers, and the differences from smoking combustible tobacco can help some people to keep away from smoking, while still getting the nicotine and cloud that they would expect from a cigarette. These are both good options for helping in smoking cessation. Check out a local vape shop to get a better idea of which style of device would be right for you!
