Why Does My Vape Pen Say Atomizer Short?

Have you picked up you’re vape pen this morning and the screen says atomizer short? You might be wondering what this means and is it safe to vape on. This message is triggered by an onboard circuit inside the vape mod, telling it to shut off all power going to the vape tank to prevent anything go wrong. Atomizer short problems occur anything from the metal connector head on the vape tank all the way into the coil inside the vape tank. Today, we are going to help you troubleshoot the common vape pen problem to fix your broken mod. This has been tested with various smoktech products are always works when customers come back with their products saying they have got an atomizer short fault, so it should also work you if you apply all of the below.

1) Bad connection. Remove the vape tank from the mod by unscrewing it anticlockwise. There could be potential dirt or left of ejuice on the connector from a leaking tank before that can cause connection problems. I would recommend that you get a cotton bud and give the connector a little swirl inside and also clean the connector the vape tank using a tissue. Reattach the vape tank back onto the vape mod, remove the battery from the back and restart it. In most cases this fixes all atomizer short vape problems.

2) Either the coil is not seated correctly into the vape tank or is flooded. Take your vape tank apart and unscrew the coil. Clean the coil from underneath and the hole it sits inside the vape tank using a tissue paper. If you have overfilled your vape in the past from priming the coil too much with eliquid, then this usually does the trick if you screw it back in.

3) Replace the vape coil. You do get the odd faulty coil in a pack of new coils, it’s something that can't be avoided. It is hard for companies to ensure that all coils are perfect. Simply remove the old coil and replace it with a new one. This should in most cases fix problems.

If none of the above work, then try your vape tank on another mod. This way you can work out if the vape tank is faulty or the connector on the first vape mod that you are using. Also do note, if you are building your own coils using an RDA or RDTA, you might have not screwed the coil in correctly, with a screwdriver on Allen key, or the coil build is not good enough.
